-9- Unappetizing (Delicious)
Soup Made By An Unreasonable Cook
Fish made in a Japanese style
kombu seaweed broth
Serves 2-3
1 (300g) red snapper
1, (10x10cm) sheet kombu seaweed
2 turnips
6 stalks asparagus
½ lemon
1200 mL water
2 tsp salt
1 tsp soy sauce
[How to Cook]
①Soak the kombu for at least 30 minutes. Cut the
snapper into large pieces. Place into boiling water. When it turns white, take
cold water and clean out any blood or dirt (C).
②Cut the turnips into fourths, and the leaves into
small pieces. Cut off the bottom 1/3 (hard part) of the asparagus. Cut the
lemon into slices.
③Put the water and fish from step 1 into a pot. Add
boiling water, then simmer. Put in the turnips (not the leaves) (D) and boil.
④Boil 10 minutes, add asaparagus. Boil 5 minutes. Add salt. To finish
up, add soy sauce. Serve in a bowl, float
lemon on top and sprinkle with turnip leaves.
Sanji: The deciding factor is
the kombu broth!
